The following process of recycling is illustrated in the image:

1. The recyclable items of the city pass through the recycle machine labeled 'Decomposers'. This is similar to decomposers in a food web.
2. The machine processes and sorts the recyclable material and produces new material that can be reused. This is same as producing nutrients that can be used again.
3. The new recycled material goes through another machine which creates new objects from the reused material. This machine is labeled ‘Primary Producers’.
