In each scenario (A, B, C) a light ray (an arrow is used to illustrate) is exiting from a glass into the air. 
-  In Figure 11A the light ray is refracted.
 
-  In Figure 11B the critical angle of refraction is reached.
 
-  In Figure 11C the refraction is so extensive that it causes the light ray to reflect back into the glass.  Total refraction has occurred in 11C.
