• 1826- The camera was a simple wooden box, with just a hole for the lens.
  • 1861- The three color projector system was developed by James Clerk Maxwell involving three black-and-white photos, taken through red, blue, and green filters. The photos were then turned into slides which could be projected on a screen and recreated in color.
  • 1888- The first Kodak camera was released. It was the first roll-film camera. It came preloaded with 6 meter film at the factory.
  • 1936- The first single lens reflex (SLR) camera for 35mm film was launched by a German company. It included a focusing magnifier and also 5 different types of lens.
  • 1947- Inventor Edwin Land holding a large picture of himself in his hand. He developed a one-step photographic system. Pictures could be taken and developed in seconds.
  • 2000- The digital camera was introduced to the world. It takes pictures at high resolution, has an auto focus zoom lens. They are affordable and compact enough to fit into your pocket.
