- An electric motor is a device that uses an electromagnet to turn an axle.
- In the figure a wire is connected to a battery, the battery supplies power to the current communicator that is around a loop of wire.
- As the current flows through the loop of wire, one side of the loop is pushed by the magnetic field of the permanent magnet, while the other side of the loop is pulled.
- This causes the loop to turn and rotate.
