- Figure B- 135 million years ago continental drift caused the earth to split into separate land masses, Laurasia and Gondwana
- Figure C- 65 million years ago, Laurasia split into North America and Eurasia and Gondwana became separated because South America and Eurasia broke apart from Africa.
- Figure D- Modern day, seven continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica
