The diagram shows the four layers of the atmosphere and objects that can reach that altitude:
- Thermosphere (Above 80km)- the outermost layer of the atmosphere: An Aurora and a space shuttle are shown in this layer.
- Ionosphere (80-400 km)- not a distinct layer, a region of charged particles or ions that overlaps the lower thermosphere.
- Mesosphere (50-80 km)- Meteor trails
- Stratosphere (12-50 km)- An airplane and a weather balloon
- Troposphere is the lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere
