The earth moves around the sun in two ways:

• Rotation: In the first figure, the sphere of the Earth rotates on its axis that connects the north and south poles. The tilt is shown to be 23.5 degrees. The direction of rotation is from west to east.
• Revolution: In the second diagram, the Earth travels or revolves around the Sun.
