- The hurricane is a swirling cloud of rising air.
- The hurricane has developed an eye at the center of the swirling cloud by day 3.
- The eye of the hurricane is sharply defined, it has reached its greatest intensity, by day 6.
- The hurricane starts to weaken as it moves over land.
- The second diagram on the right shows the structure inside a hurricane. Showing how warm, moist air spirals upward in the eye wall as more air is being drawn continuously into the storm at lower altitudes.
