                A NOTE ABOUT CALCULATORS:
​
You will need a calculator for this class, and an online graphing calculator is provided in your lessons! I recommend bookmarking this link:   DESMOS

​If you choose to also buy a calculator, any calculator labeled "scientific" will be sufficient for calculations in this class, but you will still need Desmos for graphing. If you go on to calculus or statistics, you will then want to get a handheld graphing calculator.
PROJECTS


​OCTOBER & NOVEMBER & DECEMBER = ACT Math Practice Tests
​
  • See a LL recording HERE 
  • You will be taking ACT Math Practice Tests that I assign in your USA Test Prep Account. 
  • You will need to make an account at USA Test Prep if you didn't make one last year.
  • NOTE: Please use the same account for all of your classes, just "Join" each one.
  • Select "Join a Class". Look for my name and the class "Patterson ACT 21-22".
  • As each test release date comes, you will see the test link in your Assignments list.
  • BEFORE taking the first test, check out this list of topics to review. 
  • You don't need to send me anything, I will get a report of your scores.
  • Getting 60% correct on a practice test will get you all 10 points in your grade book.
  • If you want to try for a higher score, there will be a retake test available.
  • After each test, go back and review the answer explanations.
  • ALSO: Send a Test Correction Report for each test to get Participation points. Select 10 questions you missed, then write up what you error was, and, in your own words, how to get the correct answer. Send these in by Webmail by the end of each month.

​DECEMBER:  IRL Project
  • Your class Project for this semester is the In Real Life Project.
  • This will be submitted by Webmail, and is due by the last day of this semester.
  • I suggest working on this over Fall Break week if you haven't started it before then.

​STEAM Project for all Honors students:  
​In addition to the standard projects above, Honors students will also be doing the semester long "Full STEAM Ahead" Project as given in Unit 1 Lesson 6.

However, I have modified the schedule for submitting each part, and your work will be sent in by Webmail. See below for the custom schedule to submit each part of this project.

**You will not be taking the semester exam. The ACT Practice tests at USA Test Prep replace this exam.
PLEASE NOTE:​

First semester ends Friday, December 17.
All lessons, assessments, and reworks must be completed
& submitted by 8:59 pm as your access to the course closes at 9pm.

REWORKS:
  • You may submit reworks of any question from any Test or Quiz through the last day of the semester.
  • Yes, that includes being able to rework multiple choice questions, as well.
  • Rework TESTS 1st!! Save the Quizzes for last, if additional reworks are needed, as Tests will make a much bigger difference.
  • Remember, you must write out the solving steps from start to finish for how to get the answer.
  • You may submit a picture of your written work. You don't need to type reworks, but do label which assessment and which problems you did.
  • If a rework needs a graph, you may include a screen shot of what you graphed with Desmos.
