Practice and Problem-Solving Exercises

A Practice

See Problem 1.

Copy each figure and point P. Draw the image of each figure for the given rotation about P. Use prime notation to label the vertices of the image.

  1. 60 degrees

Triangle ABD has side AB on the right and side BD on bottom, with point P up to the right of A.

  2. 90 degrees

Rectangle RECT, with side RE on top and side EC on the right, has point P in the center.

  3. 180 degrees

Triangle BDR, with side BD on top and side DR on the right, has point P on side BD.

  4. 90 degrees

Triangle KPT, with side KP on top and side PT on the right has a point at vertex P.

Copy each figure and point P. Then draw the image of j k bar  for a 180 degrees  rotation about P. Use prime notation to label the vertices of the image.

  1. Horizontal segment JK has point P in the center.
  2. Segment JK rises up to the right, with point P below its center.
  3. Segment JK falls down to the right, with point P down to the right of K.
  4. Segment JK rises up to the left, with point P at J.
