For each polyhedron, how many vertices, edges, and faces are there? List them.

  1. A polyhedron has a triangular face NPO with sides connected by three triangular faces to vertex M above.
  2. A polyhedron has two parallelogram faces, ADHE at the front and BCGF at the back, connected by four rectangular faces.
  3. A polyhedron has two pentagonal faces, PQSTR at the front and UVXYW at the back, connected by five rectangular faces.

For each polyhedron, use Euler's Formula to find the missing number.

  1. faces: white square

    edges: 15

    vertices: 9

  2. faces: 8

    edges: white square

    vertices: 6

  3. faces: 20

    edges: 30

    vertices: white square

Use Euler's Formula to find the number of vertices in each polyhedron.

  1. 6 square faces
  2. 5 faces: 1 rectangle and 4 triangles
  3. 9 faces: 1 octagon and 8 triangles

Verify Euler's Formula for each polyhedron. Then draw a net for the figure and verify Euler's Formula for the two-dimensional figure.

  1. A polyhedron has two triangular faces connected by three rectangular faces.
  2. A polyhedron has two pentagonal faces connected by five rectangular faces.
  3. A polyhedron has a pentagonal base connected by five triangular faces to a vertex above.

Describe each cross section.

  1. A horizontal plane intersects the middle of a donut-shaped solid, with vertical hole.
  2. A vertical plane intersects a cone pointing up, through its vertex.
  3. A horizontal plane intersects a cylinder with circular bases on the left and right.
