Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

Percent means per hundred. 50% means 50 per hundred. 50 percent equals , 50 over 100 , equals , 0.50 , .

You can write a fraction as a percent by writing the fraction as a decimal first. Then move the decimal point two places to the right and write a percent sign.

You can write a percent as a decimal by moving the decimal point two places to the left and removing the percent sign. You can write a percent as a fraction with a denominator of 100. Then simplify the fraction, if possible.
