HOW It Works
Laser Eye Surgery
The laser has become a sight-saving tool. In laser eye surgery, a laser beam makes small incisions, half the thickness of a human hair, in the eye. Surgeons correct and control different types of vision problems by careful positioning of the laser incisions. As shown below, a laser can be used to destroy abnormal blood vessels that cause failing vision in patients with diabetes.
